1、Purpose of the AME Manufacturing Excellence AwardThe Manufacturing Excellence Award recognizes organizations that effectively use advanced manufacturing techniques and innovative programs. We select as regional winners companies that have demonstrated continuous improvement over a three-year period,
2、 achieving significant overall operational improvements as well as enhancing their competitiveness and profitability. AME recognizes companies that use effective improvement techniques that can be shared with other organizations to promote productivity and quality throughout North America. The North
3、 American Manufacturing Excellence Award winner is honored at the AME Annual Conference and receives recognition through media releases and the award presentation. The North American and Regional winners are asked to share their successes at AME events.GoalsThe award has two primary goals. The first
4、 is to recognize excellence within AME membership. Our members are leaders in global improvement and effective manufacturing practices. The second goal is to promote shared learning of knowledge and best practices. Our members strive to develop, accelerate, and achieve peak performance. Award winner
5、s model all these goals.AME MissionTo inspire commitment to enterprise excellence through shared learning and access to best practices, so members can personally succeed and help drive their companys success.Nomination ProcedureNominations are accepted from members and nonmembers and may be submitte
6、d by companies or AMEs board members.Selection ProcessEach AME regional board reviews all applications for its region, selecting a winner based on the criteria described in this application. Each regional winner receives an award. The North American Manufacturing Excellence Award winner is chosen fr
7、om the regional winners by the AME Presidents Council. The Council reviews applications for adherence to established criteria and performance metrics. The nomination and selection process is based on documentation of continuous performance improvement over a three-year period, including supporting d
8、ata for the improvement trends.Award RecipientsAward presentation and recognition of the North American winner and regional winners takes place at the AME Annual Conference. Award winners will be announced through press releases in each companys geographical area, as well as in Chicago (vicinity of
9、AME headquarters) and the location of the AME annual conference. All award recipients are expected to host an AME workshop in the following year.The winners stories will be featured in Target, a magazine published by AME. Executives of the winning companies also may be asked to present their story a

15、tained its gains. The Council can best understand the achievements of your organization if you follow the outline set forth below and provide sufficient detail concerning your improvements and methods.For the purpose of this award, productivity is broadly interpreted to mean an organizations most ef
16、ficient and effective use of the resources available to produce high-quality products or perform high-quality services at the lowest cost. The review council recognizes that productivity and quality are measured differently in different types of organizations.The focus of this award is on continuous
17、 improvement over the past few years (with a threeyear minimum). The application must be a typewritten report on 8 x 11inch paper using a fixed pitch font of 10 characters per inch. This report should include improvement trend data with explanations on how results were obtained. The report is limite
18、d to a maximum length of 25 printed pages. Twelve copies and one CD or flash drive copy are required for submission of the application. 2021 AWARD APPLICATIONPart I. Summary (3 pages maximum) Please summarize your organizations productivity gains, the methods used to achieve those gains, and the pot
19、ential application of these methods to other organizations. The summary should include a brief description of the organization and its products and/or services, as well as a description of the organizations dash board measurement system (productivity, quality, etc). In addition, you may wish to incl
20、ude such areas as new training programs, external educational programs, efforts to increase profitability and improve customer satisfaction.Part II. Methods Used to Achieve Gains (6 pages maximum) Describe tools or methods used to gain improvement (such as Kaizen, Poke Yoke, Value Stream Mapping, et
21、c.) and what was done to sustain and replicate these gains, to make them a part of the organizational culture.Respond as completely and concisely as possible.
