3、的”等含義。如:waste land荒地;waste-paper-basket廢紙簍;waste products廢品。還可作名詞,意為“廢棄物;浪費”。如:Theres too much waste in this house. 這一家人太浪費了。常用于“Its a waste of time/money/speech to do sth.” 或 “Its a waste of time / money / speech doing sth.”結構中。如: Its a waste of time to wait any longer. 再等下去是白費時間。 Its a waste of yo
4、ur speech talking to him. 跟他講話白費唇舌。2 / 10 還可作動詞。如:We mustnt waste a drop of water or a grain of rice. 一滴水一粒米我們都不應當浪費。作動詞時,waste常用于下列結構中:waste sth. on (doing) sth. “在某事上浪費”或waste time (in) doing“浪費時間做某事”。如: He wasted lots of his time and money on playing cards. 打牌浪費了他大量的時間和金錢。 Dont waste time talking
