backbonesoftheVikingempire,whichtheyusedtocarryeverythingfromgoldcoinstospices
andfinefabrics.
Boththedrekarandtheknarrwerebuiltusingthesamemethod.Traditionally,oceangoing
shipshaveusedakeel(龍骨),shapedlikethefinofafish.Thekeelsinksintothewaterbelowthe
hull.Ithelpstheshipmaintainastraightlinethroughthewaterandcounterstheforceofthewind
