On the other hand, doping of Cr, Ni, Cu, Rh, and Pb was effecti ve for development of visible light responsive photocatalysts based on TiO2, SrTiO3, and ZnS with wide band gaps
6、. These doping photocatalysts showed activities for H2 o r O2 evolution from aqueous solutions containing of sacrificial reagents. Codoping of metal cations with high oxidation numbers such as Ta5+ and Sb5+ was effective for C r- and Rh-doped TiO2, and Cr- and Ni-doped SrTiO3. This effect of codopin
7、g was due to the charge compensation that contributed to suppression of formation of recombina tion sites between photogenerated electrons and holes. These doping photocatalysts th at show the activities for only half reactions of water splitting, that is H2 or O2 evoluti on in the presence of sacri
