(二)拍賣師英語表達方式的變化 在拍賣中，拍賣師為減少重負，使語言更加豐富、生動，對于同樣的意義，可選擇使用不同的表達方式。如： (1) 要表達“第一號拍品，起拍價為100元”，可以有以下幾種說法： Lot I, we are starting at 100.第一號拍品,我們要以100元起拍. Lot I, we start at 100.第一號拍品,我們以100元起拍. No. I, we open at 100.一號拍品,我們以100元開拍. (2) 如果要問“有人應價嗎?”可以使用以下幾種說法： Any bid? 有人應價嗎? Wholl bid for it? 誰要為此出價? (3) 如果此時已經有人出價到200元，在等待新的報價出現時，拍賣師可以重復這一價位： We have 200 now.現在有人出價200元。 200 appears now.200元出現了。 200 now.現在是200元。 200 somebody.有人出價200元。 (4) 有時為了避免使這種重復顯得過分單調，可以不時采用一些稍長的句子。比如： 1.800 over there.那邊有人出價1800元。 2,500 in the middle of the room.中間有人出價2500元。 9,900 in the back of the room.后面有人出9900元。 10,000 in the front of the room. 前面有人出價10000元。 12,000 on my left now. 在我左邊有人出價12000元。 13,500 on my right now.在我右邊有人出價13500元。 15,000,on the telephone now .電話中有人競價15000元。 (5) 如果拍賣師想進一步邀請競買人加價，可以問： Any more bid? 還有人應價嗎? In this type of auction all bidders simultaneously submit sealed bids so that no bidder knows the bid of any other participant.
