1Scope
Thisdocumentspecifiestheshapes,dimensionsandtolerancesofcastconcretetestspecimensintheformofcubes,cylindersandprisms,andofthemouldsrequiredtoproducethem.
NOTEThetolerancesspecifiedinthisdocumentarebasedontheneedsofstrengthtesting,buttheycanbeapplicabletotestsforotherproperties.

4.1General
ForapplicationofENISO1101tothemeasurementofconcretetestspecimensandmouldsinrespecttoflatness,perpendicularityandstraightness,seeAnnexA.
Foreachshapeoftestspecimen,cube,cylinderandprism,thenominalsized(Figures1,2and3)shouldbechosentobeatleastthreeandahalftimesthemaximumaggregatesize(DmaxaccordingtoEN206)intheconcrete.

4.3.4Applicabilityoftolerances
Specimenswithmouldedendfaces,orwithendfacesadjustedbygrinding,shallconformto4.3.3.
Specimenswithendfacesadjustedusingsulfurcapping,highaluminacementcapping,orsimilarcappingshallconformto

Thetolerancesonthestraightnessofthelineonthesurfacetobeincontactwiththerollersintheflexuralstrengthtestis0,3mm.
Forspecimenstobeusedforthetensilesplittingstrengthtest,thestraightnesstoleranceontheloadbearingsurfaceis0,3mm.
4.5Measurementofdimensionsandshapeofspecimens
4.5.1Unlessspecimenshavedocumentationtoshowthattheyhadbeenmadeincalibratedmoulds,theyshallbemeasuredorcheckedforconformityto4.2,4.3or4.4asappropriate.
NOTEGo/no-gogaugesorothersuitablemethodcanbeusedtocheckdimensions.
4.5.2Ifspecimenshavedocumentationtoshowthattheyhavebeenmadeincalibratedmoulds,onlytherequirementsof

5Moulds
5.1General
Mouldsshallbewatertightandnon-absorbent.
NOTEThejointsofmouldscanbecoatedwithwax,oilorgreasetoachievewater-tightness.
Moulds,otherthancalibratedmouldsinaccordancewith5.2,maybemadefromanymaterialwhichissuitableforproducingconcretespecimens.
5.2Calibratedmoulds
5.2.1General
Calibratedmouldsshallbemadeofsteelorcastiron,whichshallbethereferencematerials.Ifmouldsaremanufacturedfromothermaterials,in-useperformancetestdatashallbeavailablewhichdemonstrateslong-termequivalencewithsteelorcastironcalibratedmoulds.
Allpartsofcalibratedmouldsshallbesufficientlyrobusttopreventdistortiononassemblyandinuse.Thecomponentsofthemould,withthepossibleexceptionofthebaseplate,shallhaveidentificationmarks.

5.2.2Calibratedmouldsforcubicalspecimens
Mouldsshallbesuitableforproducingspecimensconformingto4.2.
Thetoleranceonthedesignatedsize(d)ofanassembledmouldis0,5%.
Thetoleranceontheflatnessofthefoursidefacesofthemouldis0,0006dmm.
Thetoleranceontheflatnessofthetopsurfaceofthebaseplateofthemouldsis0,001dmm.
Thetoleranceontheperpendicularityofthesidesofamouldwithrespecttotheadjacentsidesandofthesidesinrelationtothebaseis0,5mm.
NOTEIfnecessary,theflatnesstolerancecanbemeasuredwiththemoulddisassembled(seeAnnexB).
5.2.3Calibratedmouldsforcylindricalspecimens
Mouldsshallbesuitableforproducingspecimensconformingto4.3.
Thetoleranceonthedesignateddiameter(d)andthedesignatedheight(2d)is0,5%.
Thetoleranceontheflatnessofabaseofamouldis0,0006dmm.
Thetoleranceontheperpendicularityofthesideofamouldwithrespecttothebaseis0,5mm.NOTEIfnecessary,theflatnesstolerancecanbemeasuredwiththemoulddisassembled(seeAnnexB).
5.2.4Calibratedmouldsforprismaticspecimens
Mouldsshallbesuitableforproducingspecimensconformingto4.4.
Thetoleranceonthedesignateddepthandwidth(d)ofanassembledmouldis0,5%.
Thetoleranceontheflatnessoftheinternalsidesis0,002dmm.
Thetoleranceontheflatnessofthetopsurfaceofthebaseplateofthemouldis0,004dmm.
Formouldsurfaceswithdimensionsexceeding150mm,theflatnesstolerancesin
and
shallapplyoverany
150mmlength.
Thetoleranceontheperpendicularityofthesidesofamouldwithrespecttothebaseis0,5mm.NOTEIfnecessary,theflatnesstolerancecanbemeasuredwiththemoulddisassembled(seeAnnexB).

Forthepurposeofthisdocument,flatnessshallbeassessedbythemeasurementofstraightnessinfourpositions,asshowninFigureB.1,forcircularorrectilinearsurfaces.Othermethodsgivingatleastthesamedegreeofaccuracymaybeused.
