universityhadnotchangedsignificantly.Thosewhohadundergonevocationaltrainingandthengotjobswerenotthat
muchchangedinpersonality,either-exceptinonecrucialrespect.Theyhadbecomemoreconscientious.
Thatsoundslikeagoodthing,certainlycomparedwiththecommonpublicimageofundergraduatesasabunchof
lazybones.Butchangesinattitudethattheresearchersrecordedwereratherworrying.Intheuniversitygroup,again,
noneweredetectable.Butthosewhohadchosenthevocationalrouteshowedmarkeddropsininterestintasksthatare
investigativeandenterprisinginnature.Andthatmightrestricttheirchoiceofcareers.
