32、活動 設計意 圖等Step 1 Greetings Greet the class.Step 2 Grammar主句(Main or Principal Clause)與從句(Subordinate Clause) 一個大句子里所含的小句子稱為從句。1 .脫離句子仍能獨立表達完整意義即是主句, 也稱為獨立分 旬(Independent Clause)。否則即是從句,又稱為不獨立分句 (Dependent Clause)。(1)I will go if I am invited."I will go”這個分句是個完整的意思表示,可以獨立成為一個 句子,所以是主句。"if I
33、am invited"顯然不是一個完整的意思表示,也當然不是 個主句,它只是個從句。(2)Please come over again when you have time."Please come over again®個完整的意思表示,所以是主句。"when you have time"不能表示完整的意義,只是個從句。(3)The person we plan to hire for the job is Mr.A.Learn the grammar in detail."we plan to hire for the job&q
34、uot;好像是個可以獨立的從句,其實不 然,它是個由關系代詞whom引領的從句,該關系代詞whom是在該從句的主語 we之前,為什么見不到呢?因為 做賓語用的關系代詞可以省略。另一個分句"the person is Mr.A"(此人是A先生),既有主語與 動詞又能表示完整的意思,所以是主句。2 .從句的種類從句依其在全句中對于主句里的某一部分所起的作用而分 為名詞從句、形容詞從句與狀語優句三種。無論是哪一種從 句,都是由從屬連詞帶領。1 .名詞從句(Noun Clause):在主句里充當名詞作用的從句稱為名詞從句。如:(1)Whether the proposal will
35、 be accepted remains to be seen. "whether the proposal will be accepted"!做主句(亦即全句)的 主語,所以是個名詞從句。(2)The trouble is that we are short of money.Examples are supported to the students to help the students understand the grammar better."that we are short of money”這個從句是接在 be動詞is之 后做主語補語。盡管做
36、主語的補語除了名詞而外,還有形容 詞甚至副詞,但是:做補語的that從句都屬于名詞從句。(3)Everyone knows that whomever you nominate will have my support.(每個人都知道你提名的任何人都會得到我的支援。)"that whomever you nominate will have my support" 是個名詞 從句,因為它是做主句(亦即全句)里的動詞knows的賓語。"whomever you nominate"也是個名詞從句(主語是you,動詞 是nominate),彳故that-cla
37、use(W前述的名詞從句)里的主語, 其動詞是will have。2 .形容詞從句(Adjective Clause):修飾主句里的名詞或代詞的從句都稱為形容詞從句。如:(1)I wont tell you the name of the person who gave me the information.(我不會把提供我情報的那個人的名字告訴你。)"who gave me the information"這個從句(主語是關系代詞 who,動詞是 gave)是修飾主句里的名詞 persongtof的 賓語)的,所以是個形容詞從句。(2)That' s one of
38、 the reasons why I hate you.(那是我恨你的諸多原因之一。)"why I hate you"是修飾在主句里做介詞of的賓語的名詞reasons的,所以是形容詞從句。3 .狀語(Adverbial Clause):充當副詞作用的從句即稱為狀語從句。如:(1)The blackmailer became bold enough to double his demands when he saw how terrified his victim was."when he saw how terrified his victim was"
39、;是修飾上句里的動 詞became(fc轉父的時間)的,所以是個狀語。在這個從句 里又有一個較小的從句"how terrified his victim was",是做動 詞saw的賓語,所以是名詞從句。(2)My doctor advised me to live where the climate is dry."where the climate is dry”是修飾上句里不定詞 to live的,所 以是狀語。(3)Please write to me at once if you have any suggestion."if you have
40、 any suggestion"是說明動詞 write的條件,所以 是狀語。(4)She worked as though her life depended on it."as though her life dependedon 讓”是敘述動詞 worked 的態 度,所以是狀語。(5)She left because she had another appointment."because she had another appointment"是說明動詞 left 的原 因,所以是狀語。(6)Please notify your instruct
41、or promptly (in order) that a makeup examination may be scheduled."(in order) that a makeup examination may be scheduled"是說 明動詞notify的目的,所以是狀語。其中的in order可以 省略。3.要點提示兩個并列的獨立從句之間的并列連詞之前應該有逗點,但從句很短時,該逗點可以省略。再者,此種作用的并列連詞and 可以用分號(;)代替。還啟,如果從句里有逗點,并列連詞 之前該用分號代替逗點。如:ka.Their prices are low,and
42、their service is efficient.b.Their prices are low and their service is efficient.c.Their prices are low; their service is efficient.(他們的價格低廉,而且服務又肩效率。)(2)He says I have slandered him ; but, on the contrary, I have always spoken well of him.(他說我誹謗他;但正相反,我總是說他的好話。)Step 3 Real life skillsFinish the que
