findasolutiontocurediabetesbyidentifyingadrugthatcouldmakehumanbetacellsregenerate.In2015,Mount
Sinairesearchersdiscoveredthefirstsuchdrug,calledharmine.Harmineisamemberofaclassofdrugscalled
DYRK1Ainhibitors(抑制劑).Finally,inJuly2024,theyshowedthatharminealoneincreaseshumanbetacell
massby300percent,andifaGLP-1RAisadded,by700percent.
