一、判斷是不是強調句型的關鍵。去掉強調結構中的Itis(was)…that(who)…后，剩下的詞仍能組成一個完整的句子，就是強調句型。試比較：1.Itisstrangethathedidn’teyesterday.2.ItisyouandTomthatdidn’teyesterday.二、可以強調的成分1.強調主語1).ItisIwhoamtoblame.是我該受責怪。2).Itwasyourunclethat(who)cameyesterday.昨天來的是你叔叔。2.強調賓語1).ItwasanewpenthatMothergaveme.母親給我的是一支新鋼筆。2).ItwasabookthatIboughtformyson.我為兒子買的是一本書。3.強調狀語（時間、地點、方式、原因等）1).ItwasintheclassroomthatIleftmyumbrella.我把雨傘就落在了教室里。2).Itisateleventhatthetrainleaves.火車是在十一點鐘離開。3).ItwasjustasheorderedthatIacted.我正是照他吩咐的那樣做的。4).ItwasbecausehewasintroublethatItriedmybesttohelphim.正是因為他有困難我才盡力幫助他4.強調賓補1).Itwasredthatwepaintedthegate.我們把門油漆成紅的顏色。2).Itwaschairmanthattheyelectedhim.他們選他擔任的是主席的職務。三、強調主語時，that或who后面的謂語動詞的形式仍然取決于原句中的主語；be的變化只有is和was兩種形式，如果要表示現在時將來時的其它各種形式時，就用Itis…,表達過去時的各種形式時，用Itwas….一般要與謂語動詞的時態一致。如：1.ItisIwho/thatamanEnglishteacher.2.Itistheboywho/thatspeaksEnglishbestintheclass.3.ItwasonSundaythathegaveGeorgethisticket.4.Itisthelittlegirlwho/thathasbrokentheglass.
