NewYear,NewResolutions2015trendsandourfocusareaswithinsocialimpactPresentedbyDeloitteCorporateCitizenshipAswestartoff2015,we’rethinkingaboutourCitizenshipobjectives.We’refocusingonareaswherewethinkwecanhaveimpact.Hereareourfiveresolutionsfor2015.Joinusonlinetoshareyourswithus.NewYear,NewResolutionsResolution1:Domoreskills-basedvolunteerismProbonoworkandskills-basedvolunteerismenableprofessionalstodrivelastingsocietalimpactontheissuesthatmattermosttoourcommunitiesandtoourclients.Wearefocusingonskills-basedvolunteerismandprobonothisyeartoprovideingprofessionalswithleadershiprolesandopportunities,helpingthemelevatetheircareersandsatisfactionatworkwhilealsoofferingfurtheropportunitiestoconnectwithourclientsandtheissuestheycareabout.Resolution2:StepupforeducationEngagingwithstudentscanhelpthembuildbrighterfutures.Bybuildingtheirconfidence,inspiringleadershipandfosteringtrust,webelievestudentscanseetheirpotential.Thisyear,throughRightStep,we’refocusedonhelpingeducationorganizationswithaproventrack-recordofsuccessoperatemoreeffectivelyandefficientlysomorestudentscanpersistthroughhighschoolandcollegeandtransitionsuccessfullyintoacareer.Resolution3:CreatemoreopportunitiesforveteransTheU.S.Veteranspopulationiscurrentlyabove20millionandwillstayatthoselevelsthroughthenextdecade–eachyear250,000menandwomenintheU.S.transitionfrommilitarycareers.Thisyear,wearefurtheringourcommitmenttohelpingveteransmakeasuccessfultransitiontotheciviliansector.We’rehelpingequipveteranswiththeskillstosucceedthroughourthreepillarsofsupport:Education,Employment,andHealthandRecoveryaswellasthroughoursignatureprograms,probono,andnonprofitrelationships.Resolution4:CollaboratemorewithothersNosingleorganization(orperson)hasalloftheanswersbuttogether,wecandrivechangeinourcommunities.ThestrengthsandskillsofDeloitteprofessionalsenableustoleadinthisareabyengagingourclientsandourcommunitiesinhowtobestmakeapositivesocietalimpact.We’refocusingthisyearonfacilitatingcollaborationbetweengovernment,nonprofits,andbusinesstoaddresstoughsocietalchallenges,acceleratesocialinnovation,andinvestintheskillsandexperienceofourpeople.Resolution5:IncreaseengagementOurpeopleoverwhelmingwanttoparticipateinthecommunityandthey’relookingforeffectivewaystodoso.Thisyear,we’refocusedonmakingiteasierforourpeopletoengageinmeaningfulvolunteeropportunities,deepenourrelationshipwithsignaturenonprofitsinourissueareas,connecttoclientsinthecommunity,andbuildacultureofpurpose.Tolearnmore,visitShareyourthoughtswiththehashtag#GoodatDeloitteFollow@DeloitteUS
