It might be a simple decision to take a raincoat when going to school or to delay the start of a football

Millions of decisions like these are made every day, and to help decision makers the weatherman can provide information about the past or the future. For the past they have compiled a great mass of statistical an

17、d climatological data on which they can draw to answer all sorts of inquiries; for the future they prepare forecasts.
