●仔細閱讀局部分為：選擇題型的篇章閱讀理解；篇章層次的詞匯理解(BankedCloze)或短句問答(ShortAnswerQuestions)。選擇題和短句問答屬于老題型，考生非常熟悉；新增的題型就是詞匯理解題。新四級考察詞匯的方法很特別：從一篇220字左右的文章中，留出10個單詞的空格，從給出的15個備選單詞中選出10個填入文章相應處，使文章意思通順，表達正確，并不像舊四級那樣出幾十道詞匯題。這對考生的詞匯能力提出了更高的要求。以前只要看懂句子就可以把詞匯題做出來，而且詞匯題重復率很高，有的詞匯，如：entitle等，能連續考幾次。面對這種題型，考生即使詞匯掌握得不好，也有可能通過做大量的真題在詞匯局部取得比擬好的成績。而新四級的這種考察詞匯的方式就顯得很靈活了，每次出的閱讀理解文章都不一樣，沒法用以前的題海戰術了，也就更能真實地反響考生的詞匯水平和閱讀理解能力。

●快速閱讀是閱讀理解中的另一種新題型，測試的是考生瀏覽閱讀和查讀能力，要求在15分鐘看完成一篇1200字左右的文章和后面的10道題，前7個是判斷正誤，后3個是填空題。這種題型以前只在英語專業的四、八級考試中出現，而現在也被運用到大學英語考試中來了。這是一個突出考察考生略讀和查讀的題型，因而考題一般都是考察文章中的一些顯性信息，答案都很容易在原文中找到。只要考生掌握了一定的技巧，會很容易取得高分。

完形填空和改錯中二選一，還要考察漢譯英。完形填空和改錯屬于老題型，考生完全不用擔憂。雖然改錯以前一直是六級考察的工程，并且這次新樣題中沒有給出新四級改錯樣題，但是我們認為新四級的改錯題型應該和現在的六級改錯題型差不多。而且改錯的考點無非就是對語法點，如：主謂一致、時態等等，和上下文邏輯的考察，只要復習了常見考點就沒問題。需要引起注意的是漢譯英局部。垃圾詞匯1：help典型例句：I’llhelpyou.
