如何做學術報告?做國際學術會議報告的幾點技巧（tips)?馮兆東（2019-08-03）?一、我自己的一個沉痛的教訓?記得那是1988年，我在美國地質學年會的一個分會上做了一個口頭報告，那是我的第一個英文口頭報告。

由于我的報告科學質量低、由于透明膠片復印質量和文字質量低、由于準備不充分和表達極不通暢，報告效果極差。

報告前，我的導師坐在我旁邊為我鼓勁。

但當我講完后，他卻悄悄地溜了（顯然，他是被我臊著的了）。

更嚴重的是：

到了四年之后的1992年，我向美國自然科學基金會（NSF）提交了一個基金申請，一位評審在他的審稿意見中寫道在：

我在1988年聽過申請者（Feng）的一個報告，那是一個毫無意義的和浪費聽眾時間的糟糕報告。

很顯然，我的輕率報告當時讓我在同行面前失去了信譽（credibility）,我為此付出了沉重代價。

?二、學術報告的目的是學術交流?1988年的我只想著：

我報告了，我露臉了，我的簡歷上有新內容了。

后來，我發現有不少年輕人正在犯著我當年的錯誤：

為了報告而報告，為了在簡歷上添加新內容而報告。

我有充分的經驗和經歷讓我有信心地說：

雖然一個報告只有20分鐘左右，但報告的目的只有一個（是的，只有一個）：

講述一個道理或論證一個事實。

而且，你得讓您的聽眾聽懂，最好是100%地聽懂。

?2-1.報告的準備?即使你的英文比較好，你的報告是需要用認真的態度和用專業的水準去準備的。

你得用能給大同行講懂的語言（大同行：

對您講的內容的基本背景有大致的了解和理解）去組織你的科學：

邏輯和語言邏輯。

科學邏輯指的是科學研究的四股：

(1)Whydidyoudothis?(2)Howdidyoudoit?(3)Whataretheresults?(4)Whatisyourinterpretation?：

語言邏輯指的是：

(1)complete(完整)，(2)concise(簡明扼要)，(3)coherent(連貫的、合乎邏輯的)。

特別需要強調的是：

coherent(連貫的、合乎邏輯的)最為重要，它意味著句子中指-代關系是清晰的，邏輯是平穩的。

記著：

短短20分鐘的學術報告是容不得邏輯跳躍或邏輯斷層的。

?2-2.圖文并茂與口頭表達?Needlesstosay(不用說)，將您的報告內容用最簡明和引人入勝的辦法表達出來（PPT：

幻燈片）是需要技術和技巧的。

實際上，制作的學術報告的PPT的技巧幾乎是無窮的。

每次參加會議，我發現總有人（那些熟悉制作技術的人、那些能將復雜科學問題簡化的人、那些肯花時間去制作PPT的人）能用做PPT的方?法使他（她）的報告效果達到最佳。

PPT做好了之后，還有一件事也是同等重要的：

PPT（幻燈片）上的文字與您口頭語言之間的協調和平衡。

假定您的英文是沒有太大問題的，您必須關注的是：

不要讓PPT上的文字太多而使您的口頭表達變得毫無意義或/和沒人理會。

總之，PPT圖表、PPT上的文字輔助說明、您的口頭表達三者要到到各司其職，以達到最佳的被聽懂和讓聽眾跟著您的思路走的效果。

?2-3.英文不足夠好怎么辦？?不要緊的。

最近我在日本參加一個國際會議時發現，那些英語了并不好的日本人做的還行。

第一，他們盡心盡力地準備好了PPT（圖文并茂，內容深度和多寡都把握得比較好）。

第二，他們（日本人）都用事先寫好的稿子來報告（而不是隨興語言），而且他們大多都能做到英文發音比較準確（我懷疑：

有人在報告前好好地和狠狠地練過發音的）。

這就確保了他們的報告內容能夠被理解。

第三，他們（日本人）也時常聽不懂聽眾的提問（多由于他們自己的英文不足夠好，也有由于提問者的英文口音偏重的情形），但他們會很坦然的請求在場的英文比較好的日本同行替他們翻譯。

?2-4.怎么應對學術報告后的提問？?記著，學術報告的目的是學術交流。

學術交流意味著雙向的思想碰撞和流通。

參加一次學術會議，特別是比較昂貴和費事的國際學術會議，您總是有兩大任務的：

（1）向同行展示您的成果，（2）向同行學習他們的成果。

進而，您的學術報告本身也有兩大任務：

（1
