游戲在英語課堂上的重要性都快比得上水之于魚了,很難想象一堂課上,如果沒有了游戲,該怎么繼續。不論高年級還是低年級,在游戲中學習都是一種十分有效的學習方式。低年級學生好動又好勝,游戲能讓他們在動身體的同時動腦,并且享受成功的喜悅。高年級的課堂相對而言比較乏味,適時的游戲會是絕佳的作料。好的游戲能讓一堂沉悶的英語課活躍起來,是學生學習的興奮的藥劑。

一、游戲的安排應講究一個“適”字,適時、適式、適度。

(一)適時組織游戲

看準時機,針對學生的實際安排合適的游戲形式。

1.讓學生從思想上盡快進入英語課堂,游戲導入是個相當快捷、有效的方法。我們可以安排listenanddo,listenandpoint,lookandsay,flashandsay等操作簡單,但具有檢查性質的游戲。學生在玩游戲的同時,復習了舊知識,情感上也得到了體驗。而從這些舊知識的復習,我們可以自然過渡到新知識的傳授,溫故知新,以舊帶新,一舉兩得。

2.在復習鞏固階段,最忌諱的是機械操練。游戲能使復習變得生動。比如我們學了一系列水果以后,安排老師拿一個水果,學生說出來的環節,但反復幾次之后,學生的積極性就會減弱。這時,我們安排游戲Whoismissing?Whoisfast?Magiceyes等,學生的積極性就會立刻恢復,一只只小手又會爭先恐后地舉

起。

3.當學生的臉上閃過“無聊”、“困惑”的痕跡時,游戲可解“燃眉之急”。高年級的學生面臨背單詞、記單詞的難題。如果不講究方法地死記硬背,不但效果不好,學生的興趣也會逐漸降低。在這個階段,如果能幫助他們掌握正確的方法,促使他們主動背單詞,就會對他們以后的英語學習有很大的幫助。單詞接龍、吊死鬼、尋找共同點等游戲,不僅讓學生始終處于積極思考的狀態,而且能提高他們課后記單詞的興趣。

(二)適式組織游戲

有些游戲的可用性很強,如copy不走樣等游戲,無論什么內容,都能套用。但有些游戲,卻不是什么內容都合適的。教師要學會使用最恰當的游戲,如flashandguess這樣的游戲僅適合單詞教學,而不適合鞏固句型。

不同年齡階段的學生,對游戲的口味也不同,我們要學會投其所好。低年級的學生喜歡趣味性強的,如copy不走樣,highvoiceandlowvoice能引起他們參與的欲望。而高年級的學生則喜歡探索型的游戲,比如bingo、加減運算對抗賽就很受他們的歡迎。

(三)適度組織游戲

在教學中,我們不能只為讓學生放松、玩樂而安排游戲,歸根結底,游戲是為教學服務的。在游戲活動之前,我們必須指定相應的規則,沒有規則,游戲過程就會很“亂”,有規則才能“活而

有序”。當學生的“玩性”到五、六成的時候,我們的游戲就該結束了。因為如果游戲結束太早,學生才剛進入游戲狀態,熟悉游戲規則,就結束游戲,一來掃興,二來游戲的“運用語言”的目的也沒達到。如果游戲結束得太晚,學生就會越來越無聊,下次再玩這類游戲就沒有了熱情。

二、游戲的組織,還要講究一個“變”字——以不變應萬變。

(一)巧設陷阱

同一個游戲“發口令,做動作”,一般都是教師怎么發,學生怎么做,最多讓一個學生發,其他學生做,偶爾做做反口令,分組進行比賽。做多了,學生的好奇心沒有了,游戲就變成了機械操練。如果設幾個陷阱,就會有“眼睛一眨,老母雞變鴨”的效果。趣味性的調節就是教師在做動作的時候,可以先慢慢地好像在做“坐下”的動作,眼神一定要是那種壞壞的,然后突然變成“起立”,讓學生產生和教師斗下去的欲望。師生成了“敵人”,而游戲就成了“戰爭”。把動作和語言結合起來,邊做動作邊說,動作和口令有時一致,有時不一致。在訓練學生對所學知識掌握的同時,還訓練了學生的反應能力。

(二)變換速度

隨著學生對知識的掌握逐漸加深,訓練的速度可以逐漸加快,這不但適合學習的規律,還使原本枯燥的操練重新顯出生氣,學生逐漸淡化的新奇感又被激起。

(三)獎勵機制的運用

在教育中,我們能體會到表揚和激勵對學生起的作用比批評更大。在老師的激勵下,學生的探索精神更易發揮,更容易學會原本以為很難學的東西。我常常采用口頭表揚,認為給學生物質獎勵會使他們變得功利,但在同事們的感染下,偶爾嘗試獎勵,也取得了很好的激勵效果。我用小五星激勵學生,常常搞得自己整個黃昏剪五角星,有時,一節課獎多了,自己還有點心疼,最重要的是用多了學生還不稀罕了。其實我們可以嘗試用加分的方法,注意分值有區別,加分要敏感,時時注意給學生以表揚,讓學生得到認可。這樣一來,不但讓自己得到解脫,更使獎勵更具可變性。

(四)以人為本

教育的對象是人,所以教育應當以人為本。在游戲中,教師的神態、語態、眼神、動作是十分重要的,教師要用主持人一般的激情,讓每個學生都感覺到老師的召喚。我相信教師只有投入情感,學生才會給予相應的回報。
