Forexample,RMBSissuedbyFannieMaeandFreddieMacinU.S.areagencyRMBS.Theyusuallyhaveahighcreditrating.NonagencyRMBSarenotguaranteedbythegovernmentorthequasi-governmentagencies.Forexample,RMBSissuedbyaprivateSPEisanonagencyRMBS.Theyusuallyneedtoadoptcreditenhancementstoreducecreditrisk.9/13/2023Page7ResidentialMortgage-BackedSecuritiesForaloantobeincludedinapoolofloansbackinganagencyRMBS,itmustmeetspecificunderwritingstandardsestablishedbyvariousgovernmentagencies.Thesestandardssetforththemaximumsizeoftheloan,theloandocumentationrequired,themaximumloan-to-valueratio,andwhetherornotinsuranceisrequired.Ifaloansatisfiestheunderwritings
